粽叶主要用于食物包装与高端烘焙的天然垫材。地处武陵山脉北麓的湖南张家界市桑植县，是中国工农红军第二方面军长征出发地。这里常年云雾缭绕、日照充足、空气湿润，孕育出27万亩茂密的野生粽叶林。其叶片厚实柔韧、清香纯粹、耐煮耐泡，品质远超其他粽叶产品，占据中国八成市场份额。
2021年，“桑植粽叶”成功获批国家地理标志证明商标。依托这一金字招牌，桑植县通过“协会+合作社+农户”模式，串联起采摘、收购、加工、销售全产业链条，大幅提升产品附加值与市场话语权，通过积极走出去参加国际会展，产品远销日本、新加坡、马来西亚等16个国家和地区，带动革命老区6万农民靠采摘粽叶改变生活。
